Gorr-rant #1: "Either you text me first, or we don't talk today"

For my first rant here on the Gorr Report (unless you count "Dear Miss Cyrus" as a rant) I've chosen a topic that has come up again and again. I've noticed on Facebook that several of my female friends have chosen to "like" things such as "Either you text me first, or we don't talk today" or "I'm not ignoring you, I'm just waiting for you to call me first". Come on girls. Guys are already expected to initiate first contact, ask girls on and pay for all dates, and of course the hardest inter-gender task: propose marriage. I'm not complaining about any of these responsibilities that us men are expected to fulfill, I really think it's just fine, but now you won't even talk to a guy you're interested in unless he texts you first? Don't you think that's just a little bit too much? I sure do. Now, if you're the only one who ever initiates conversation with a certain guy, then that's one thing, I can understand you getting tired of that. But if you want to talk to somebody, then talk to them! Really, just talking shouldn't be one of those things that don't happen unless the guy starts it. Isn't there already enough drama in the world? The end!
